My Approach

I work from a biopsychosocial perspective looking at how mind, body, and life circumstances all shape each other.

In my sessions I use techniques from:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - CBT techniques can help you spot and reshape unhelpful thought patterns and build practical coping skills for anxiety, stress, or low mood.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - ACT provides several tools to facilitate taking action aligned with your values while being open to the current situation whatever it looks like.

  • Mindfulness and Biofeedback - I can incorporate mindfulness and biofeedback to you notice and regulate your body's stress response in the moment. This can be useful for impulsive behavior, worry and rumination, and for building a strong, resilient mind.

Long-term stress or nervous system activation can show up physically as pain, headaches, or frequent illness. The mind and body influence each other constantly.

Beyond addressing difficulties, I focus on identifying your strengths and building resilience helping you feel more confident to handle whatever life brings.

About me

Hi I am Faidra, a psychologist originally from Greece. I moved to Copenhagen in 2013 out of curiosity about the city and the culture.

During my BSc and MSc in Psychology I initially planned to stay in academia. My past work included a variety of tasks within psychology, such as research on chronic pain in hospitalised patients, and creating stress management biofeedback interventions for entrepreneurs. However I found a deeper sense of meaning in working directly with people, as a therapist.

Lifelong learning and expanding my approach is essential for me, so on top of my psychology degree I completed the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Essentials course through the Beck Institute, Biofeedback training with the Boston Center for Health Psychology and Biofeedback and supervision from Inna Khazan. I am currently focusing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy training from Steven Hayes.

I want to help people when they go through difficult, unclear or uncertain times. My long term vision is to make therapy more accessible, as those who need it the most often cannot access or afford a psychologist.

Currently I live close to Roskilde with my partner, our two kids and our dog. When I am not working I enjoy being in nature, making ceramics and climbing.
